Pickup from your residence (9:00 AM)
Begin your tranquil journey with private car transport through the lush landscapes of Gunma.
Scenic countryside views as you ascend to one of Japan’s most famous hot spring towns, nestled in the mountains.
Yubatake & Kusatsu Onsen Town (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
Arrive at Yubatake, the iconic steaming hot water field in the heart of Kusatsu.
Watch the water gush and steam dramatically from geothermal sources, surrounded by wooden channels and lantern-lit walkways.
Stroll through the quaint onsen town: visit footbaths, traditional snack shops (try onsen tamago and manju), and handcraft souvenir stalls.
Onsen Bathing Experience (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM)
Enjoy a relaxing soak at one of Kusatsu’s top public bathhouses like Gozanoyu, Sainokawara Rotenburo (open-air bath), or Ohtakinoyu with its beautiful wooden interiors.
Detox your body in mineral-rich volcanic waters, known for their healing properties.
Traditional Lunch (1:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
Dine at a charming local restaurant offering seasonal mountain vegetables, hot soba, or yaki-curry — a local specialty.
Ask for local sake or yuzu-based drinks to complement the meal.
Sainokawara Park Hike & Valley Walk (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM)
Head to Sainokawara Park, a dramatic volcanic valley with bubbling streams, steaming vents, and nature trails.
Take a light hike through the forest paths that wind along the river, with wooden bridges and observation decks.
Optional: Visit the Kusatsu Tropical Wonderland if traveling with family—featuring capybaras enjoying their own onsen!
Footbath Rest Stop (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Wind down your tour with a stop at a scenic ashiyu (footbath) café or a last stroll through the town's picturesque alleys.
Optional: Shop for unique bath salts, skincare, and yukata as souvenirs of your onsen escape.
