Terms of Service

Article 1
(General Provisions)

GoRide, based in Tokyo, Japan, allows users to book transportation services through its website and mobile app, collectively referred to as the “GoRide Tools”.

These General Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) apply to all user agreements involving GoRide’s booking services. Any conflicting terms or conditions from users are not accepted, even if GoRide processes a booking without objection. Any exceptions or changes to these terms must be approved in writing by GoRide.

Article 2
(Contractual relationship and booking process)

When a user submits a completed booking form through the GoRide Tools or books by phone, they are making an offer to enter into a service arrangement (“ride request”).

GoRide will first send an email confirming the ride request. This does not confirm the booking, it simply acknowledges the request has been received. The booking is confirmed only when the user receives a separate email with a formal “booking confirmation.”

Users must ensure that all information provided to GoRide—whether submitted directly or on their behalf by someone else is complete and accurate. GoRide is not responsible for losses incurred by false or erroneous information on behalf of the user.

Article 3
(DETAILS OF TRANSPORT AGREEMENT)

4.1 Ride Types and Changes
Ride modifications after booking are possible but may result in additional costs. Additionally, if the user changes the ride details or makes extra requests during the ride (e.g., additional stops), GoRide will accommodate where possible, and extra charges may apply (see Section 5).

4.1.1 Transfers & Long-Distance Rides
Pricing calculation is based on, but not limited to, the original pickup and drop-off addresses, driver and car availability, and other factors. Extra stopovers may incur additional fees.

4.1.2 Hourly Bookings
Hourly bookings begin at the scheduled pickup time and must end within the general area of the pickup location. If the ride extends beyond the agreed time, distance, or outside the general area of the pickup location, additional charges may apply.

4.2 Pickup Time
The pickup time is as shown in the GoRide booking confirmation.
For airport or train station pickups, if the user has provided a valid flight/train number, the pickup time may be adjusted to reflect delays or other unforeseen circumstances.

4.3 Vehicle Type
Vehicle classes (e.g., Business, SUV, First Class) can be selected based on availability.  Exact vehicles may vary. Free upgrades to a higher class may be provided depending on availability on a case-by-case basis.

4.4 Safety & Transport Rules

  • Luggage & Animals

Luggage details must be specified during booking. GoRide may refuse unlisted bulky items, weapons, or animals. If accepted, additional charges may apply. Animals must be in secure carriers.

  • Passenger & Luggage Limits

If deemed necessary, GoRide may refuse to transport more passengers or luggage than the vehicle can safely accommodate.

  • Children & Minors

Child seat requirements must be specified, including age and number of children.

  • Refused Transport

If required information (e.g., child seat needs, luggage, etc.) is not provided or is incorrect GoRide reserves the right to refuse service if it deems that it cannot provide safe transport to its passengers.

4.5 Delays
Unexpected events (e.g., weather conditions, strikes) may result in delays or last-minute cancellations. Users are expected to understand and accept this as a result of force-majeure and forfeit the right to compensation beyond the ride fare.

4.6 Cancellations, Rebookings, and No-Shows

Cancellations

Cancellations are free if made more than 24 hours before pickup. Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup are charged in full. Cancellations must be done via the website or app.

Cancellations of Third-Party Services

Some of our curated day-trips involve third-party services which require booking in advance (i.e overnight stays, etc.). In the case of a cancellation, GoRide may still charge the user the full fee incurred by certain third-party services based on the independent circumstances and conditions of each provider.

Rebookings

Rebookings are treated as new bookings. The original booking may still be charged according to the cancellation rules above.

No-Shows

If the user doesn’t show up and hasn’t explicitly cancelled their reservation:

  • Transfer & Long-Distance Rides: No-show if the user doesn’t appear within 15 minutes (90 minutes for airports/train stations without prior notification).

  • Hourly Bookings: No-show if the user doesn’t appear by the end of the scheduled time.

In both cases, the full fare is charged. Waiting fees may not apply unless agreed otherwise.

4.7 Passenger Behavior
During the ride, users must follow all traffic laws and comply with the driver’s instructions at all times. Dangerous or disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited. Smoking is not allowed. Alcohol may only be consumed with the driver’s approval. If these rules are violated, fees may apply.
